The Alexandria AOH, together with other divisions from around Virginia, marched this weekend in the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. Brothers and their families kicked off St. Patrick’s month with Mass at the Basilica of St. Mary, where our chaplain Fr. Searby prayed Mass and brother Chris Robertson served as lector.
We marched in the parade with Irish music playing and Father blessing the crowd as we went! As we marched, we thought of the long history of our Irish forefathers who marched in protest of British tyranny, marched to protect their Faith and families, and marched to preserve the rich heritage of the Irish people. After the parade, we retired to the Riley’s annual party for more great Irish music and dancing, food, and friendship.
