Can you help? Old Town Alexandria St. Patrick’s Day Parade

2010PinCan You Help?

This is the 33nd presentation of the parade and our celebration of Irish American heritage.  This event is planned all year.  We need to raise at least $14,000.00 to pay the City of Alexandria for services and assorted fees required to stage and execute this parade.  This event brings thousands of participants and parade fans to the city.  The money spent by those people benefits not only the Merchants but also the City of Alexandria’s tax proceeds.

A special Fundraiser is planned for Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Murphy’s Irish Pub on King Street Alexandria from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.

Could you donate some merchandise or buy a Parade Supporter Shamrock for display in your front window or desk to show your support for the parade and help us pay the costs?  We are the “Ballyshaners”, Gaelic for “Old Towners” and this is your opportunity to be one us.   We depend upon the generosity of everyone in Old Town to host this parade.  Without your donations there is no Old Town Alexandria St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  The first such celebration in the United States every year.

Please make your contribution to help continue this 33 year tradition in GRAND style. Contribute an item of merchandise or service for our Silent Auction or just make a donation for the Parade Support Shamrock.   Join the fun!  Your participation and benevolence shall return to you as an Irish Blessing tenfold.

“May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light,

May good luck pursue you each morning and night.”

Respectfully Yours,

Harold V. Sinnett, Quarter Master / Lead Parade Marshal
